20 days after the agreement on the guarantee price established by COPROTÉ, with the commitment of the Province to subsidize a part of the purchase of fertilizers, the delivery of this input began.
In this first unloading, two trucks of one hundred bags each were delivered. The program will be extended until the delivery of one hundred trucks is completed.
The objective of this plan is to improve the productivity of enterprises in the primary tea sector in the province of Misiones and reduce the production costs of green tea leaf, favoring an increase in income for producers through the financing of fertilization. sustainable production.
“These actions are carried out in support of producers and also of industries, so all this distribution work is done together,” said Luciana Imbrogno, undersecretary for development and vegetable production at the Ministry of Agriculture and Production.
In this way, the delivery of nitrogen fertilizer is carried out by subsidizing part of the cost and the rest financed in installments at zero interest rates. The total contribution of the Provincial State amounts to 700 million pesos for tea producers, giving priority to those with less than 10 hectares. The number of bags / kg to be purchased by each family varies according to the cultivated area and the yields per hectare of green leaf for each producer, with priority given to those with fewer hectares and greater fertilization needs due to the low yields achieved.
