The IMF has improved its global economic growth outlook to 4.9 percent

However, the fund warned that the economy is recovering unevenly, which he said is the result of poor vaccination practices against covid-19 in some countries.

“Access to vaccines has emerged as a major turning point, along which the recovery of the global economy is divided into two parts: countries that can look forward to further normalization of activities this year, and those that will continue to face recurrent cases of infection, and growing number of deaths, ”said the IMF.

“Recovery is uncertain even in countries where the incidence of infection is now very low if the virus persists elsewhere,” the IMF added.

The monetary fund’s outlook for this year has remained unchanged and continues to count on 6% growth, which largely only erases last year’s record slump caused by the pandemic.

According to the fund, almost all developed economies belong to the first group of countries. On the contrary, the outlook for a large part of developing and young market economies is worse than in April.

According to the spring outlook, the Czech gross domestic product (GDP) will grow by 4.2 percent. Even in the autumn outlook, the IMF expected growth of 5.1 percent.

In 2022, the Czech GDP is to increase by 4.3 percent. The national estimate was not updated by the fund on Tuesday.

Last year, the Czechia recorded a fall in GDP of 5.6 percent, so the recovery will not come until next year.

Last year’s performance of the economies was strongly affected by the global pandemic of covid-19 and related restrictions.
