The top of the range Hyundai i20, at least temporarily, has just been introduced in the form of the i20 N Line model. The press release speaks of “sensual sportiness” and “even more dynamic driving experiences”, but in fact don’t expect anything more under the shell than the standard i20 offers – the N Line is just a trim level that is only inspired in appearance with real sharp Ns.

New are the bumpers, radiator grille, chrome double tailpipe and triangular fog light at the rear. The pictures also show the possibility to order a car with a black roof, but this is only for this white Polar color.

The real benefit of sharper driving is in the interior in the form of sports seats. The rest is just tinsel – metal pedals and special gear lever heads or automatic transmission selectors. We also see the display instead of the classic instrument panel, which should also have some possibilities for individualization.

Under the hood, Hyundai offers what even with the standard i20 – an atmospheric twelve-cylinder petrol engine with an output of 84 hp or a liter T-GDI turbo-petrol with 100 or 120 hp. In its more powerful version, a 48V mildhybrid system is standard, which can recover braking energy.

It is connected to the “intelligent” manual transmission iMT, which has an electronically controlled clutch and without the intervention of the driver can so-called sail, ie disengage the clutch and let the car drive only by inertia.

The offer also includes connecting the car to the Internet using the Hyundai Bluelink system, which cooperates, for example, with a smartphone application that can partially control the car remotely. The equipment also includes an army of driving and safety assistants called Hyundai SmartSense.

The price list is not yet available, but the “civilian” i20 starts at 279 thousand crowns and continues over 400 thousand for pieces with rich equipment and powerful engines. It is to be expected that the N Line version will be one of the more expensive ones.
