Return in style. This is exactly what the performance of one of the most famous off-roads in history, which took place on Wednesday night, captures.

The first to be announced is the pre-announced and promoted front grille with integrated LED headlights. The entire front of the car thus functions as a luminaire with the Hummer inscription. Below it is also a massive front bumper with a protection plate and fog lights, which predicts extensive off-road properties in the field.

The car didn’t take much away from the original Hummer, but if anything, the elongated, not too high windshield and flat body shapes. Thanks to this, the roof of the model can be dismantled using panels and passengers can enjoy driving without it. The rear window of the pick-up can then be inserted electronically. Removable panels are still transparent.

The rear of the car is dominated by a large body supplied with a cover and large LED headlights. As for the tires, the Hummer comes standard with 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler All Territory MT tires. But there will also be two-inch larger tires. The bikes will also be used by the already introduced “crab mode”, the CrabWalk system, which will allow the Hummer to drive almost sideways by turning all wheels to the side.

However, the Hummer is just beginning with the exterior, as it is also magnificent in the cabin. GMC understood that the electric car needs a number of technologies inside, so the Hummer is equipped with two large displays. One in the middle of the cab, the other instead of the instrument panel.

It has the UltraVision system, which offers the driver a view of up to 18 cameras for a smooth passage through the terrain. The Hummer is also equipped with the Super Cruise system. Thanks to this, it can drive 321,869 kilometers of compatible motorways in the USA and Canada without the intervention of the driver’s hands.

Another attraction is the propulsion system. It consists of three electric motors, which together give its wearer an uncompromising output of 746 kilowatts, 1000 horsepower and a torque of 15,592 Nm. In the latter case, which is a misleading value, it is the torque on the wheels. GMC does not give newton meters for the engines themselves.

This allows the giant pickup to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in less than 3 seconds. Everything is powered by batteries called Ultium, thanks to which the car can travel a respectable 563 kilometers on a single charge. And if that’s not enough, the Hummer can be quickly recharged with an output of up to 350 kW thanks to the 800V system. Within ten minutes, the car can reach a range of 161 kilometers.

GMC intends to launch the Hummer in the second half of 2021. The car will be manufactured at the Zero factory in Detroit and will be the first to release the Edition 1, which costs $ 112,595, or more than 2.5 million crowns.

The following editions will arrive in stages and will gradually reduce their price and allegedly their performance and range. The cheapest Hummer will not arrive until the spring of 2024, it will be a basic version with 2X engines and a reduced range of 402 kilometers. The price will start at 1.8 million crowns. It is not yet clear whether it will be possible to buy the novelty in Europe as well.
