The history of Sri Mulyani often receives large bills from the chiefs of Pertamina and PLN

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Minister of Finance (Minister of Finance) Sri Mulyani Indrawati disclosed that he often receives high bills from State Energy Enterprises (BUMNs), especially PT Pertamina (Persero) and PT PLN (Perseri).

Especially from Pertamina, the Ministry of Finance receives large bills. This is in line with world crude prices rising above the Indonesian crude oil price (ICP), so fuel prices (BBM) need to be adjusted.

“This year we more than tripled the fuel subsidy and compensation when the price of fuel exceeds $100. Double The ICP is over $100. The exchange rate is also relatively above Rp’s state budget assumption. 14,750,” the finance minister said on the agenda of the Kompas100 CEO forum on Friday (2/12/2022).

“This is why this bill, Pak Darmo (Director of PLN) is here (State Palace), Miss Nike (Director of Pertamina) is not here, yes, these two people billed me a lot, up to more of IDR 500 trillion,” he continued.

Sri Mulyani said the bill still had to be paid with the aim of maintaining the stability of the two BUMNs and meeting the needs of the community.

“This is to keep the two BUMNs (Pertamina and PLN) running, people’s purchasing power is maintained because shock What happens from the outside doesn’t continue for the community,” he explained.

As for world crude oil prices next year (2023), he is still monitoring developments in the global situation. Like the war between Russia and Ukraine which is not over yet.

“We will see the ICP price again next year. The dynamics are extraordinary. There is an OPEC meeting, there is a possibility that the war (Russia and Ukraine) will continue or not, then now the G7 is maneuvering to put a price cap on oil. All of this will affect assumptions about our oil price next year, which will determine how much the CPI will affect our electricity prices and fuel prices,” said Sri Mulyani.

The former World Bank chief executive also said the government would remain consistent with the transition to environmentally friendly energy next year. However, there is global uncertainty that will affect.

“At the same time, we stillpersevere or continue politics regarding the energy transition to green energy. So even in shock, let’s not lose our medium to long-term vision to become a country more engaged in economic growth, but greener,” said Finance Minister Sri Mulyani.
