The Hilton group launches its lifestyle brand Motto in New York

Ultra-urban situations, lively common areas, a design bias and innovative accommodation solutions: with its new brand Motto by Hilton, the eponymous American group delivers its way of conceiving the low cost lifestyle. Presented in 2018, the brand made its grand debut in Washington in the summer of 2020, then in downtown Philadelphia in the spring of 2021. The brand is conquering a new market, and not least, New York, settling in the very dynamic Chelsea Arts District.

Located on Manhattan’s 24th Street, the hotel is housed in a 42-story tower designed by Stonehill Taylor, an architecture and interior design firm renowned for transformation into a hotel of the TWA terminal at New York’s JFK Airport Hotel and his work on New York’s Ace Hotel and the inventive and enduring NoMad Hotel.

In addition to its design and arty side, its offer is characterized by its 374 rooms with flexible sleeping configurations and quality. For example, a classic king bed or one that stores in the wall, a bunk bed, four twin beds in one bedroom. All associated with neat bathrooms, optimized space with integrated storage and high-tech management of room features from the Hilton Honors application.

Another distinctive feature of the Motto concept, the Motto Chelsea offers 19 sets of interconnecting rooms, which allow guests to book up to three rooms together. An offer which primarily meets the expectations of groups of friends and families, but which may also be of interest to business travellers. Indeed, by reserving two adjoining rooms, they can form a kind of sequel with on one side the sleeping area and on the other, by tucking the bed into the wall, a living room where you can work and entertain.

Because the Motto concept which, in certain aspects, presents itself as a new generation high-end youth hostel, is also intended for business travel. The lobby, baptized Motto Commons, lends itself as much to relaxation as to work and meetings. For this purpose, the Motto Commons has a conference table can accommodate up to 10 people. In addition, the second floor also has a meeting room for 150 people, extended by an outdoor terrace. Meanwhile, in addition to a high-tech fitness center, the Motto by Hilton Chelsea aims to be a lively place at all times with an Italian-inspired restaurant, Bar Cicchetti operated by Fabio Viviani, a participant in the American version of Top Chef, as well as a bar offering cocktails and craft beers.

After this opening in New York, other Motto will open soon. European travelers will be able to discover this concept from spring in the heart of Rotterdam, near the Markthal and its many food stalls.
