The director is to finish at Pardubice Airport by the end of the year, and she will be replaced by a tender.
The director of Pardubice Airport, Hana Šmejkalová, will receive a three-month severance pay for her trip from her position. But it is not yet clear who will pay for it. However, a minority shareholder has already offered himself: the Pardubice Region.
The issue of severance pay for the director was addressed at Thursday’s meeting of the Pardubice council, which approved the conclusion of a contract for the provision of funds to East Bohemian Airport (EBA), which operates the Pardubice airport. During the discussion of the item, the question of severance pay was also raised.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of EBA, Petr Juchelka, did not want to state a specific amount, but only stated that if he did not receive severance pay only in the event of a gross breach of contract. The Pardubice daily came with the information that severance pay means three monthly salaries. Šmejkalová will certainly receive at least one extra salary. Even if the largest shareholder, the city of Pardubice, did not agree. “If we do not have an agreement with the main shareholder, we have decided to, as a region, give the director a third of the unapproved remuneration as a gift, “ Governor Martin Netolický told Pardubický deník.

Juchelka also answered at the council why the director was not her deputy during her absence. According to Juchelka, she was constantly on the phone or e-mail. At least in September, this turned out to be a lie. The daily Zdopravy.cz received an automatic reply that the e-mail would be deleted and that the sender should write again after returning from vacation.
Šmejkalová is to leave at the end of the year, she announced her end at the beginning of the week. She cited the campaign as the reasonleading against it. Within a week, an application was sent to the Civil Aviation Authority to change the so-called authorized person. The Pardubice deputies criticized the director for the plan to obtain a bonus for new lines, for which she voted for herself. The director, who is among the finalists of the Manager of the Year competition, still tried to delay her departure by not signing the application to the CAA. The Pardubice region did not have an exchange for a while, but this week the situation was unblocked. Although the Pardubice Region has a minority stake in the airport, it could block the entire personnel change.
A new competition will be announced for her post. Šmejakalová has been in office since September 2015. In the years 2016 – 2019, the airport never earned, the accumulated loss is already 66 million crowns, the decline can be expected this year as well.
