In dialogue with chroniclers of newspaper EL SOL-Tele5Leandro (Sandro) Lapiduz, president of the Hotel and Gastronomy Association of Concordia, specified that “I must admit that we constantly receive new price lists from suppliers, but not everything can be transferred to prices, so we try to (the increase) be gradual”. “Efforts are made in the final value in such a way that the client leaves satisfied and returns,” added the businessman.

“Due to different factors, the sector has had a significant recovery. This is helped by issues such as the economy, where the change fundamentally benefits Uruguayans,” Lapiduz said.

However, he acknowledged that “Argentines, given the situation, decided to vacation in the country,” and therefore “used the benefits offered by the Pre-Trip, which was undoubtedly a very good proposal,” he said.

At the same time, he expressed that “the sector is becoming more dynamic and Concordia has a significant demand within the micro-region, all linked to a good development of the promotion of its tourist products and as a destination.”

“Currently, Concordia has 2,000 beds and Federación, which is a smaller city, has close to 7,000 beds,” he compared. As a result, she launched: “I have proposing for a long time that we need more infrastructure in our city, and that implies that there are public policies that generate private investment in Concordia”.
