The Hague will ban carbide shooting

The Hague wants a ban on carbide shooting around the turn of the year. Mayor Van Zanen (VVD) finds the practice too dangerous in the city and is therefore going to ban carbide shooting, says a municipal spokesman against Broadcaster West.

Carbide shooting is popular as an alternative to firing fireworks. This year there is a ban on relieving hospitals. Because the ban does not apply to carbide shooting, it is now rapidly gaining popularity.

Saturday turned out all that several municipalities are going to work on a ban. This includes Groningen, Dordrecht and smaller municipalities such as Lisse, Hillegom, Noordwijk and Teylingen (all in South Holland). The Hague, the third city in the Netherlands, therefore agrees.
