The hacker is delaying the return of the stolen crypt from Poly Network, which offered him a reward

An unknown hacker (or group of hackers) nicknamed Mr. White Hat, who stole from a de-fi platform Poly Network cryptocurrencies worth more than $ 600 million, delaying the return of the remaining cryptocurrencies worth more than $ 200 million.

Hundreds of millions of dollars in tokens lie in a wallet that requires passwords from both the Poly Network and the cyber attacker. The platform wants to provide a password to the wallet, but the hacker is still waiting for everyone to be supposedly “ready”. The real reason for the delay is according to CNBC unclear. Server Coindesk points out that the hacker feels distrust of the platform. He will probably provide the key to the account with the remaining stolen tokens next week.

Poly Network offered the attacker the position of chief security consultant and a reward of 160 ETH (approximately $ 500,000) for helping the platform identify vulnerabilities in the protocol. The hacker initially declined the reward, but said in a statement attached to the transaction on Monday that he was “considering accepting the reward as a bonus for hackers who can hack Poly Network.”

Following the theft, the platform announced that it is planning a major upgrade of its systems, however, with the update it must wait until it manages to recover all the stolen tokens. Poly Network also announced that it is not going to sue the hacker.
