Carrara, January 21, 2021 – The Carabinieri of Carrara have discovered a gym open to the public despite the ban imposed by the anti Covid regulations. To make the military suspicious was the comings and goings of people in gymnastic gear near the structure. Some customers were ‘pinched’ just as they crossed the threshold of the gym. Others . they were seen in the company of the personal trainer as they entered the building. In essence, the military of the Arma discovered that while from the outside everything appeared closed with the empty parking lot, the gym in fact continued to guarantee individual training by appointment. An administrative sanction of 400 euros each was therefore taken against the owner of the gym and customers, in addition to the forced closure of the activity for five days, violations that will be communicated to the Prefecture of Massa.
Another sanction of the same type was applied to a bar in the historic center. Also in this case the place seemed closed, but the carabinieri of Carrara heard noises coming from inside, they also noticed a glow from the window, an unequivocal sign that someone was still inside. Entering the bar, the Arma soldiers found the manager, together with two other people, who were having some drinks, in defiance of the current prohibitions. Not even the excuse put forward by the owner, who said he was entertained in the bar because he was toasting with friends who had gone to visit him to celebrate his birthday, did not help. The “denial”, however, came from the control of his documents, in fact his “real” date of birth had nothing to do with the day of the assessment. Controls and inspections by the Carabinieri of the Compagnia di Carrara for compliance with anti-covid regulations will continue in the coming days.
