Not long ago, few people would have thought that they would have a problem with the fireplace stove. No one was too concerned with whether they were harmful in any way, or with any emissions. But that has changed, and home heating systems are now a major concern of regulatory authorities.
It has come
As is well known, various solid fuel boilers are more or less over, or they are just waiting for their final write-off. Next come fireplaces, which are usually heated with wood, which is considered by people to be trouble-free. Unfortunately, some people trample on everything possible, including, for example, garbage or plastic bottles, which should of course be prohibited.
However, to condemn all fireplaces as such is really strong coffee. And yet it happened, even if so far only in neighboring Germany. There, according to the decree for the protection against immissions, there was a ban on fireplaces that do not meet certain standards in terms of dust particle emissions. They will be outlawed this year.
It even goes so far that these old fireplaces, which many households may have at home, must not be used. This means either replacing them with a newer type that is still allowed, or upgrading. This is exactly the way to avoid the ban, although of course it won’t be free. It is necessary to add a dust particle separator to the fireplace, which is not exactly a cheap thing.
It needs to be checked
But the problem is also that many people simply do not know what kind of fireplace they have at home, because it has been there since time immemorial. So they have no idea whether it meets the emission limits or not. They should have it checked by a chimney sweep who can measure everything properly.

It is quite possible that we will soon see a similar measure in the Czech Republic. Even here, older heaters are gradually being phased out. From September, for example, you may not use boilers classified in the first and second emission class. They must be replaced immediately, otherwise you risk a fine of 50,000 crowns, which can be imposed repeatedly.
