CONTEXT:

In 2022, the Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Turin, Italy. Latvia will be represented in the competition by a group “Other Boys” with the song “Eat Your Salad”.

The Latvian song will be performed in the first semifinal on May 10. Albania, Switzerland, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Moldova, Ukraine, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Denmark, Armenia, Austria, Croatia, Iceland and Greece will also take part. Two of the Big Five countries – Italy and France – will also vote in the first semifinal.

Representatives from Austria, Azerbaijan, Cyprus, Finland, Georgia, Israel, Malta, San Marino, Serbia, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Ireland, Montenegro, Northern Macedonia, Poland, Romania and Sweden will compete in the second semi-final on 12 May. also the “Big Five” countries Germany, Spain and the United Kingdom.

The Eurovision final will take place on 14 May.

In response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the organizers of Eurovision barred Russia from participating in this year’s competition.
