The 54 Food Banks in Spain will begin the Great Annual Collection on November 24, which will last a week, ending on the 30th. On the 24th and 25th the collection will be with the presence of volunteers and the rest of the days You can donate directly at the checkout.

This year we will maintain the traditional physical collection of food in some of the establishments, suspended during the pandemic, while in others customers will only be able to make their donation at the checkout lines for the desired amount, which will be perfectly reflected on their ticket. shopping.

The amount collected in these establishments will have to be exchanged by the Banks for basic foodstuffs in that same chain, which will allow the needs of the neediest people in the region to be met during this Christmas and throughout the coming months. The current number of beneficiaries is close to 18,000.-

In our towns the collection will be carried out in a total of 77 supermarkets of the main chains. To serve these businesses during the weekend of November 24 and 25, approximately 950 volunteers will be needed, which we are currently trying to recruit with the help of various organizations, brotherhoods, sports clubs and schools.

Volunteers are the key piece of the Great Collections. According to studies by the National Federation of Food Banks, collections double with the presence of volunteers in supermarkets.
