Sony’s Game Pass competition has been speculated about for a really long time. However, the first report on the implementation of such a project did not come until December last year, from journalist Jason Schreier. He referred to sources close to Sony and claimed that the project bore a code Spartacus and it will basically be a combination of PS + and PS Now services, which we should see in the spring. According to his sources, the launch of the service should be very close and he even claims that “something will probably happen at the end of this month”. But it doesn’t have to be an announcement, according to Grubb, it may just be an internal milestone. He further claims that Spartacus should be divided into three levels, which was already suggested by Jason Schreier, but Grubb adds more information. Levels should bear names „essential“, „extra“ a „premium“to be priced at 10, 13respectively $ 16 a month. Let me remind you that a classic Game Pass from Microsoft costs $ 10 and a Game Pass Ultimate $ 15 a month.
But what will be the content? The lowest level is supposed to remain essentially classic PS +as we know it today, only the name will change. Subscribers will continue to receive free monthly games and will have access to multiplayer, cloud storage or special discounts.
Subscription “Extra” is also to offer all titles from the downloadable PS Now catalog. However, you will not be able to access the streaming service as such.
