Until some time ago, the 6-cylinder engine under the hood of the Volkswagen Golf was nothing surprising. We were able to enjoy the VR6 version from the third generation.
The last installment, under the hood of which a capacity greater than 2.0 was used, was the Golf Mk5, specifically the R32 model. Just such a copy, from 2005, will take us today to the motorway test.

The 3.2 liter VR6 unit produces 250 horsepower and a torque of 320 Newton meters. Thanks to the 4-wheel drive, the car accelerates to 100 km / h in 6.2 seconds.
The maximum speed declared by the manufacturer is 248 km / h. Of course, the author of the recording decided to verify it on the German highway without restriction.

At one point a Mercedes-AMG G 63 plugged in during the test, but fell off at around 220 km / h. That’s what the producer allows him in the serial edition. All because of the aerodynamics and safety.
