Neymar and Santos – the superstar and the club have a very special relationship. It is the club where the striker started his career. He wore the Santos jersey as a youth player. He later played in a total of 142 games for the club, scoring 73 goals. For Neymar, Santos is THE great love.

And now the Brazilian not only attended the game as a fan in the stadium. Neymar also had a conversation with club boss Marcelo Teixeira behind the scenes.

According to ESPN, Teixeira said of his meeting with Neymar: “It was a short conversation, but it’s always the short conversations that have a good effect.”

Teixeira makes it clear that it is still too early to discuss any contractual matters or even sign a contract. But then the president gives fans hope. Teixeira on a Neymar comeback at his youth club: “He has to recover even better. To play here he has to recover well. He will continue his experience and then he will come.”

Neymar’s contract with his current club Al-Hilal runs until 2025. After that, the plan is for him to return home to FC Santos.
