The Franchise: A Hilarious Behind-the-Scenes Comedy Series in the Cinematic Universe

Then Marvel Studios in 2008 Iron Man released, it was not at all certain whether it would be a success. Now we know, of course, that the film was the starting signal of a ‘Cinematic Universe’ that can no longer be ignored in the film landscape. HBO is now going with their new series The Franchise poking fun at the Marvel and DC Cinematic Universes.

The writers of Succession in Veep come up with now The Franchisea comedy series that depicts what goes on behind the scenes of a not-so-successful film franchise.

Synopsis
The official synopsis for the series reads as follows: “The crew of an unloved film franchise fights for their place in a fierce and unruly cinematic universe.”

“‘The Franchise’ sheds light on the secret chaos in the world of superhero filmmaking, to ask the question: How exactly is the cinematic sausage made? Because every [frick]-up has an origin story.”

Topcast
The lead roles will be played by Himesh Patel (Tenet) in Aya Cash (The Boys). The cast also includes top talent such as Daniel Brühl (Rush), Richard E. Grant (Can You Ever Forgive Me?) a Billy Magnussen (No Time To Die).

The first episode is directed by top director Sam Mendes (Heavy rain, 1917), which also produces the series. An official release date has not yet been announced. As soon as more is known about this, we will let you know.
