The former head of O2 bought metalworkers

The Ponec engineering company has more than twenty years of tradition in metal cutting and production of custom assembly units. It focuses on precise and prototype production for clients from the railway, automotive and aerospace industries. And now he has a new owner.

It was bought by the Thein investment group of former O2 CEO Tomáš Budník. Neither party stated the price of the transaction.

“Ponec corresponds exactly to our investment strategy on the Czech market. We are looking for the results of the work of skilled Czech people and know-how that competes with the world’s most advanced companies. We want to help such companies with further development and at the same time we want to keep them in the Czech hands, “said The director of the Thein Group, Jana Moravová. The purchase of a 100% stake in an engineering company is the group’s first investment in the Czech market.

Thein investment group was founded by former CEO of O2 Budník in April this year. The company focuses on established companies in the Czech Republic and Slovakia with specialized know-how in information and communication technologies and industry 4.0. The group now has units of hundreds of millions of crowns, which come from bank sources and from Budník.
