The Olympic winner from Nagano and the four-time world champion Patera asked for release after Friday’s home match against Olomouc. On Sunday in Pardubice he was already missing from the substitute. “We had a meeting together and they called each other several times over the weekend. It was not something that both parties would decide right away. We finally decided to respect his reasons as a club and end our mutual cooperation prematurely,” Tůma added.

The 50-year-old coach worked in Mladá Boleslav for the fourth season, first he was one of Miloslav Hořava’s assistants and then he and Rulík became equal coaches. Last season, skaters under their leadership advanced to the semifinals of the playoffs, in which they lost 3: 4 to matches with later champions from Třinec. They currently rank seventh in the table.
