After appearing on the list of banned companies, Huawei started developing its own operating system. Although HarmonyOS completed the development phase quickly, there was a serious problem: the ecosystem. Currently, more than 400,000 developers are working on apps and games for this platform. Earlier this week, Huawei hosted a profile Huawei HDC2022 Developer Conference. The Chinese company confirmed HarmonyOS 3.1 and HarmonyOS 4.0 at the event. Furthermore, the first adopter version is already available for developers.
Huawei P60 will run on HarmonyOS 3.1
Anyway, at this event, we heard some ideas that, most likely, Huawei will return to the dual leadership strategy next year. Our guesses come from the statement that Hongmeng 3.1 will be available in March next year, while HarmonyOS 4.0 will arrive in the second half of 2023. In other words, Huawei P60 will show the previous system, while Huawei Mate 60 will bring the latest version.
Frankly, this is not strange. We mean, before the sanctions, Huawei was executing a dual-led strategy. The P-line models were launched in the first half of the year. Meanwhile, the Mate smartphone series appeared in the second half of the year. Additionally, P models focus on photography, while Mate phones focus on performance.
At this point there is no definitive information regarding the Huawei P60 and Mate 60. However, not long ago, we saw the renders of the P60 and P60 Pro. They are basically the same as the previous models. The only differences relate to the screen and the camera.
Among them is Huawei P60 The Monnalisa Use a perforated screen. On the back, it contains a dual ring camera module. The main camera is expected to use a 64MP sensor and support the new generation of Huawei Xmage imaging technology.
As for the configuration, we believe Huawei will still use the 4G version of Qualcomm’s next flagship chip. But the Mate line is expected to arrive with 5G support.
