A few days before the date, which was already much earlier, the first customers in the USA were given their Tesla Model Y, as at least two of them confirmed German time late Friday. In the days before, many photos and videos of Tesla parking lots and car transporters full of Model Y had been published on social media.

Initial inspections have now confirmed that the latest Tesla offers more space compared to its platform brother, Model 3. And he still has a small extra compartment in the trunk. “I’m 1.93 meters tall and fit very well in the back seat,” wrote user Silversmith in the Tesla Motors Club and published a series of photos of his gray Model Y Performance. There was, however, a larger gap on the rear doors than he expected, but at least the same on both sides, he described first impressions.

“Quite spacious in the back,” commented a female voice in an Instagram video, which was apparently recorded (and has since been deleted) before the first deliveries. Whether the woman is the owner of the Model Y or could only examine it in peace is not clear from her comments. In addition to the large amount of space, she mentions the wireless phone charging pad in the car and its electric trunk lid.
Overall, the new Tesla seems to offer many interesting detailed solutions. Like the other models, the Model Y has a kind of trunk in the trunk in the form of a compartment that is located under a cover. But new is another subject that the blog Electrek even describes as “secret” – flatter than the lower trunk and further ahead. The front trunk, called by Tesla Frunk, also seems to have some volume.

Another feature of the hoped-for second Tesla volume electric car was noticed by the Teslarati blog in the middle of this week: “The glass roof of the Model Y is the best of Tesla so far,” he reported. Like the Model S, the Model Y has an uninterrupted glass surface instead of a tin roof, which allows a completely unobstructed view of the sky – but is affordable for many more customers due to the lower price.
