Since its officialization on May 20, 2020, the “Snyder Cut” of Justice League crystallizes all expectations, and is eagerly awaited by critics and spectators. Good news: the first trailer has just been released.
A long-awaited trailer
Despite the confinement and the sanitary rules, Warner decided to keep the DC FanDome and make it a virtual event. The DC Fandome, which kicked off this Saturday August 22 at 7 p.m. (French time), was the occasion for Warner to publish the first images of the highly anticipated Snyder Cut of Justice League, with a trailer with a length of 2 min 43. This trailer, which makes thee full of unpublished images (Snyder promises four-hour-long mini-series), is musical, since all along we can hear the mythical song Hallelujah de Leonard Cohen, already used by the director in a sex scene of the film Watchmen, as if Zack Snyder were sneering at the “orgasm” that fans who have been impatiently awaiting his version of Justice League.

The trailer had itself been teased two days earlier, on social networks, Zack Snyder having proposed a teaser of his trailer. That says a lot about the wait for this long version of the 2017 film, completely reworked by the director of Man of Steel and Batman v. Superman. The trailer had leaked hours before the “Justice League” panel, but was withdrawn following a Warner copyright claim.

If one cannot predict the quality of the film so many months in advance, one can however guarantee that Warner is aware of the importance of the Snyder Cut. Indeed, the film must at the same time reconcile the spectators with an often shunned DC Extented Universe, due to some undeniable failures (Suicide Squad, Shazam, Justice League), while promoting their new SVOD, HBO Max, supposed to compete with Netflix, Prime Video and Disney +.
As a reminder, the Snyder Cut has an output designed for May 2021 on HBO Max. We can also expect a new trailer, probably around the end of the year holidays.
