the first sets have a price and a release date!

After the formalization of a partnership between the Japanese video game giant and the Danish manufacturer LEGO, the first LEGO Super Mario sets are available for pre-order, for release on August 1.

As we told you a few weeks ago, the famous brick builder LEGO and Nintendo entered into a partnership in order to sell a LEGO game in the universe of the mustachioed plumber, cult character of the Japanese firm. If we hadn’t had any news so far, we have just got hold of some crisp information on the different sets that LEGO will offer after this partnership. Thus, LEGO Super Mario will come in three different sets:

  • Mario Starter Course: 59.99 euros
  • The Balance of the Piranha Plant: 29.99 euros
  • The Battle of Bowser’s Castle: 99.99 euros

In total, the three sets will offer you nearly 1,373 pieces in total, including 231 pieces for the Mario Starter Course, the first set to acquire and including the already collector figurine of the Italian plumber, 132 pieces for The Balance of the Piranha Plant, and finally nearly 1010 pieces for The Battle of Bowser’s Castle, set the most expensive on the list. These three different sets can of course be used independently of each other, even if obtaining the three would allow new games mixing several universes. To play it, there is a free application, LEGO Super Mario, available as well on iOS thatAndroid. We will find, in particular, the instructions to put everything together, as well as various explanations concerning the possible games. These three LEGO Super Mario sets will be available starting August 1, 2020, and pre-orders have just opened today.

“Super Mario has always existed, through different media, adapted to the trends of their time. I am happy that in this project with the LEGO Group, Mario comes out of the digital world of game consoles and smart devices, and that we are able to bring it to life in our world, thanks to a completely new physical game. It’s so great to know that LEGO Mario is going to be a real companion for kids and that they can play with him in the world they’ve imagined themselves. ” explained Takashi Tezuka, Executive Officer and Game Producer of Nintendo, following this announcement.
