The grand finale of the capital is pyrotechnic. Rome explodes on New Year’s Eve with (prohibited) fireworks that set the city on fire. From balconies and terraces it is a riot of colors that lights up the sky of Rome at midnight to greet the new year, 2021. The wish is that of “rebirth” after the horrible year marked by the pandemic and coronavirus deaths.
