The fastest SUV in the world has undergone modernization, changes are also under the shell

Now there is also a top variant, marked Speed according to the fact that it simply drives fast. Even, with a maximum of 306 km / h in an SUV the fastest in the world.

As with the other variants, the new bow and stern. The changes are not very visible at the front, but at the rear we see new oval lights, similar to those on the Continental GT, and moving the license plate to the bumper. The stern is so much more elegant.

Of course, the Speed version is distinguished from the “regular” Bentayga by darker headlights, lacquered sills and bumpers with a slightly sportier touch. The exhaust tailpipes are also uniform ovals, they do not have an interruption in the middle.

There is also a package that Bentley calls the “Black Specification”. True to its name, it replaces all chrome on the outside with black lacquer or carbon, including exhaust tailpipes or roof rails.

New displays in the cabin.

Inside, we see a fully digital instrument panel that can replace the tachometer with a map or other information.

The infotainment screen has 10.9 ”diagonals and, in addition to the usual functions, offers the option of typing with your finger on the screen, which is more convenient than typing individual letters on the virtual keyboard.

The analog clock sits above the display in the middle of the dashboard.

The characteristic analog clock at the top remains, as do the manual climate control below the display. And there are a few keys to basic infotainment control, so you don’t have to do everything in the display.

It is also worth mentioning the extension of the head-up display functions, which will now show, for example, street names or traffic information. And also an improved connectivity system, which, depending on the market, is able to predict on the display in the car when the traffic light will turn green or whether there is any danger in the area on the road.

At the back you can have two armchairs instead of a bench.

Under the hood remains a six-liter W12 engine with 635 hp and 900 Nm To reduce fuel consumption, however, it can turn off one row of cylinders. More interesting is that it can switch rows of cylinders so that one of them does not cool too much if it has been switched off for a long time.

It is connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission, which opens the hydrodynamic torque converter to 5th to 8th gear when the accelerator pedal is released, thus disconnecting the engine from the wheels and allowing the car to sail. However, if it detects a downhill run and the car accelerates spontaneously, the inverter closes again and the car can brake with the engine.

Four-zone air conditioning is a matter of course.

The carmaker did not announce the price of the modernized Bentaygy Speed, but it is possible that Europeans will not have to bother too much.

Bentayga Speed will be available in regions where demand for 12-cylinder SUVs remains strong – in the US, the Middle East and the Asia Pacific.

We will not take this as confirmation that the facelifted version will not look to Europe; rather as a hint that may not mean anything. The carmaker continues that it is also preparing a hybrid version of the bentayga.
