/ world today news/ The famous composer Boris Karadimchev died suddenly today, BNT reported.
He was killed by a heart attack at noon, Nova reported.
The 81-year-old composer, professor at NATFIZ and long-time artistic director of the “Pim-Pam” children’s choir dedicated his life to music.
Boris Karadimchev was born in 1933 in Yambol.
He finished conducting with Prof. Asst. Dimitrov and composition under Prof. P. Vladigerov in Bdk (now DMA “P. Vladigerov”) in 1961. He worked in the Bulgarian Concert Directorate, as a responsible editor in BNT. He teaches harmony in the Middle Sergeant Military Music School, in the Variety Department of Bdk.
Since 1970, he has been the creative director of the children’s vocal group “Pim-Pam”, for which he composed dozens of songs. His work includes songs, some of which are included in music textbooks.
In 1997, he was awarded the “Golden Orpheus” for lifetime achievement.
Since 1999, he has been a professor of music at NATFIZ “Kr. Sarafov”. He also taught at the New Bulgarian University and the Southwest University “Neofit Rilski”.
Boris Karadimchev is the author of the music for 40 films, 120 animations and over 300 popular songs. He wrote symphonic and chamber works, etc.
