The exchange of fate of Lukaku and Diego Carlos in the European League Final, Sevilla vs Inter: the soccer ball

KOLN – There are two players who experienced an exchange of fate in the 2019-2020 European League final which brought Sevilla vs. Inter Milan at RheinEnergieStadion, Saturday (22/8/2020) early morning WIB. The two players in question are Diego Carlos (Sevilla) and Romelu Lukaku (Inter Milan).

It is said that they experienced an exchange of fate because the results they got at the beginning and at the end of the match were contradictory. Lukaku can be said to be from hero to zero, while Diego Carlos is the opposite.

When the match entered the fifth minute, Diego Carlos became in pain for dropping Lukaku in the forbidden box. Referee Danny Makkelie, who led the match, immediately pointed to the spot.

Lukaku, who served as the executioner, carried out his duties properly, as well as making Nerazzurri – nicknamed Inter – winning 1-0 over Sevilla. However, Sevilla’s status as the most successful team in the European League was not broken.

They reversed the position through Luuk de Jong’s header in the 12th and 33rd minutes. Luckily for Inter, Antonio Conte’s team was able to equalize via a Diego Godin header in the 35th minute. The score turned 2-2 and lasted until the first half was over.

In the second half, both Inter and Sevilla bought and sold attacks. However, in the end it was Sevilla who laughed at the end of the match.

Take advantage of the situation set piece, Diego Carlos who was in the Inter penalty box opened fire bicycle kick. The ball also rushed into the Inter goal of Samir Handanovic’s escort. Even though the speed was fast, the round skin actually pointed at Lukaku who was at the far post.

However, Lukaku, who intended to throw the ball, instead put the round skin into his own goal. As a result, Sevilla won 3-2 over Inter and entitled to seal the sixth European League trophy.

For Lukaku’s own goal, the Belgian striker became the target of netizens on social media. Even so, Lukaku’s performance with Inter deserves appreciation.

Lukaku has emerged as Inter’s goal machine this season. From 51 matches in all competitions, Lukaku collected 34 goals. A collection of 34 goals to match the achievements of Brazilian legend footballer, Ronaldo Luiz, in his first season defending Inter in 1997-1998.
