RegioJet has published a timetable for the Warsaw – Krakow route. The carrier is waiting for the UTK’s decision

According to the plan, the trains of the Czech carrier would run twice a day. They would leave Warsaw at 10:07 and 17:07, stopping at the stations Warszawa Wschodnia, Centralna and Zachodnia. Trains from Kraków Główny to Warsaw would depart at 6:45 and 13:45. No stops are planned between cities.

RegioJet could become a competition for the monopoly on this route, i.e. PKP Intercity. The Czech carrier claims that its trains will cover the route in two hours and 20 minutes, which is similar to how long it takes for Pendolino trains. The carrier is waiting for the decision of the Railway Transport Office, which checks whether the launch of new trains will not affect the existing connections.

RegioJet, but not only. Leo Express also plans to run trains on this route

Another private Czech carrier also expressed the desire to launch connections between Warsaw and Krakow at the end of last year. Leo Express wanted six one-way trains on this route from December 2020. The company is waiting for a positive decision from the UTK. From June 2019, Leo Express trains can travel from Krakow to Prague and back.
