The sixth promotion of voluntary civic service in Anglet, just completed his mission for seven months that began in October 2019. in this month of June 2020. Since October 2019, traditionally, the municipality led by Claude Olive, will host a reception for the departure of the 18 young people who make it up.
During this service, they are invested in various initiatives in the areas of environment, citizenship, and social life of the neighbourhood or the sector co-curriculars. The Covid 19 being placed in their contract, three of them will extend their commitment during the summer of 2020, with a mission of prevention on the beaches to remind the eco-friendly actions and gestures barriers required by the health crisis. Each of the volunteers, at the same time to the missions of the civil service, prepared a project for the future.
At the ceremony marking the end of the 6th promotion, Friday, 19 June 2020, Home to all, Claude, Olive has provided a letter of recommendation to help in the search for a job.
Support and prevention
In the course of their civic service, these young people have initiated and developed missions in areas in connection with the solidarity and citizenship. With actions in schools within the animation teams extra-curricular, with the communal Centre for social action (home visits of isolated elderly, support to the market, etc), advice and assistance to digital, with users in their different approaches dematerialised.
They have also developed animation projects in several districts (Lespes, Houndaro, Butte-aux-Cailles…) and conducted awareness-raising activities from the public to the preservation of the natural environment within the ecological park Izadia. Finally, some are devoted to consumer information on the coastline, in connection with the office of tourism (risk prevention, awareness of eco-friendly actions…)
Inclusion and citizenship
In Anglet, the civic service in the framework of the “Integration and Citizenship” implemented by the municipality. It is a multi-year plan (2014 – 2020) for the youth. in this framework, the City hosts, every year, 18 volunteers of the civic service, 5 young people in the learning contract and 5 others in jobs of the future.
More than 100 young people have been welcomed in six years.
Recruitment of the 7th promotion
The City of Anglet is recruiting now for a new promotion for a period of seven months.
