Marranzini says it opens doors to investment and strengthens transformation of the Dominican industry
The Association of Industries of the Dominican Republic (AIRD) considered that the enactment of the Proindustria Law is the most positive step for the sector this year and thanked President Luis Abinader for the step and the National Congress for its approval.
Celso Juan Marranzini, president of AIRD, indicated that said Law opens doors to new investments, to the reinvestment of profits, strengthens the path towards the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the incorporation of new technologies, the passage to greater research and development of new products “and, in short, it is a positive signal that clearly indicates what is being talked about with the declaration of industrialization as a national priority.”
He explained that it is a fundamental step in reactivating companies that make up the manufacturing sector, including SMEs, in the generation of more formal jobs, especially in these delicate moments that the world economy is experiencing due to COVID-19.
At the activity in which the Promulgation of the Law is made public, in addition to Marranzini, were present Roberto Herrera by the National Council of Private Enterprise (CONEP), Juan Ventura, president of the Association of Industrialists of the North Region (AIREN) and Bredyg Disla, president of the Association of Industries and Companies of Haina and the South Region (AIEHAINA).
“The industry as a national priority implies a process that requires new investments, new policies, and a framework that favors both moving towards Industry 4.0 and increasing exports. The approval of the Pro-Industry Law by Congress and its promulgation by President Luis Abinader constitute a correct step in that direction, ”said Celso Juan Marranzini, AIRD president.
Marranzini made his statements while participating in a ceremony at the National Palace in which the promulgation of this Law was announced.
He assured that, as in the first stage, the new Proindustria Law favors innovation and modernization of industries, the promotion of associativity, productive linkages with other sectors of the economy, industrial parks, the possibility of promoting higher levels of exports, the constitution of trade facilitation mechanisms, among others.
He reiterated that the atmosphere of trust and optimism strengthens every time it is shown that joint work between the public and private sectors is possible and that this gives certainty that he is on the right track for the year 2021, which is already at the door.
