The EBAU begins for more than 11,000 students in the Canary Islands | Radio Club Tenerife

The ordinary call for the Baccalaureate Assessment for University Access (EBAU) 2020 will begin in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife today, Wednesday from 08:30, presentation time, and will last until Saturday the 4th.

To try to minimize the risks of possible COVID-19 infections, on this occasion measures have been articulated to reduce the flow of people: thus, the exam days have been extended one more day and, in the case of Tenerife, they have been multiplied the number of venues on the Guajara, Anchieta and Sur (Adeje) campuses.

In this call, a record number of registrations has been reached, which exceeds 5,017. The first day of exams is dedicated to the subjects common to all students, which are Spanish Language and Literature II, 1st Foreign Language and History of Spain and this year, exceptionally, it will be held in two days to divide the influx of people: tomorrow It will be for the students of the Science option and on July 2, for the Humanities and Social Sciences and Arts.

In the non-capital islands of the province, the venues will be the usual ones for the exams: the IES Alonso Pérez Díaz in La Palma; the IES San Sebastián de La Gomera in La Gomera; and the IES Garoé in El Hierro. However, in Tenerife there will be exams not only at the Guajara Campus, but also at the Anchieta Campus faculties and even at the South Campus located in Adeje. A total of 6,133 students from the province of Las Palmas will start their Baccalaureate Assessment for University Access (EBAU) in the province of Las Palmas as of this Wednesday, as reported by the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC ).

This figure represents an increase of nearly a thousand more students compared to the previous year, when 5,150 students took the test, which represents an increase of 19%.

In any case, not all students will begin the test at the same time, since today the students of Sciences and Health Sciences will do so, waiting for the rest on day 2, with the aim of “avoiding crowds” as a protective measure against the coronavirus crisis.

The test in the Canary Islands will last from July 1 to 4 in its ordinary call. 5,521 students attend the general phase in Las Palmas; and option 612. In addition, 142 people with special needs are present.

Of the general total, 480 students will be present in Fuerteventura, 744 in Lanzarote, 2402 in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, 467 in the north of the island and 911 in the south, while in Telde there will be 517.

246 students attend for arts, 2,636 students for science, 1,737 for social sciences and 902 for humanities. The publication of the provisional qualifications will take place on Friday, July 10, on the ULPGC’s institutional website.
