KONTAN.CO.ID – JAKARTA The Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta does not rule out the possibility of studying the application of odd-even throughout the day or 24 hours a day, for all motorized vehicles on the streets of the Capital City, including two wheels.
Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) Syafrin Liputo explained that this was done in an effort to suppress the movement of people in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic so that the potential for the spread of the outbreak was not wide open.

“If in the current odd-even implementation it turns out that it is still not effective in suppressing the mobility of citizens, of course we will do a comprehensive study and it is not impossible for various options to be implemented,” he told Kompas.com, Monday (10/8/2020).
“For example, the odd-even validity period is extended throughout the day, then applies to all roads, it can even apply to all motorized vehicles, including two-wheeled motorbikes,” said Syafrin.
This means that if it turns out that the mobility of the residents does not occur after the implementation of odd-even changes, it could be that the rules are getting stricter.
Syafrin said that the implementation could be carried out by referring to the Governor Regulation (Pergub) 51 of 2020 concerning the Implementation of Large-Scale Social Restrictions during the Transition Period Towards a Healthy, Safe, and Productive Society.
The reason is, according to this regulation, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has the authority to regulate its own regions in an effort to suppress the spread of the corona virus or Covid-19.
“We are not partially applying the existing ones. So why can this be applied because gage is a policy instrument whose authority can be implemented by the DKI Provincial Government,” said Syafrin again.
Syafrin explained, if indeed the odd number is even for motorbikes to be implemented, of course the Provincial Government will not immediately fully implement it, but it will be passed in several stages including socialization.
“Our hope is that if the regulation is enforced, the residents will be more aware that we should not make unnecessary movements. Jakarta has not finished with Covid-19, we are still trying to overcome it so that it can be immediately free from the pandemic. Of course, all instruments must be moved,” he said. .

For information, the system of limiting private cars through the odd-even method was again effective on Monday (10/8/2020) yesterday. There are 25 roads with an odd-even system.
The time for the odd-even system is divided into two, namely 06.00 – 10.00 WIB for the morning, and in the afternoon at 16.00 – 21.00 WIB. This system does not apply on Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays. (Ruly Kurniawan)
