For the Swiss, the US is currently not yet accessible. But within the United States, tourism is slowly picking up speed again. This also applies to the Disney parks, which are by far the most popular attractions in the United States. The Disney World in Orlando (Florida) has been open again since July 2020, after only four months of closure, and has been in operation since then, with minor restrictions – i.e. all four parks (Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios) and the Blizzard Beach Waterpark (this only since March 7, 2021) are open. In other places it took a little longer. On April 30, 2021, the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim (California) and Disney California Adventure reopened, in this case after seven months of closure. Just imagine: In the 66-year history of the Disney parks, they had never been closed for more than a day, for example in California in 1994 after an earthquake. But now normality is slowly returning. That too Hong Kong Disneyland is now open again after two previous closings.
It still takes a while in the next Disney-Park seen from Switzerland, the Disneyland Paris in Chessy. But even there there is now an opening date: The gates to pleasure at the gates of Paris will open next June 17th. – Disneyland Park, Walt Disney Studios Park, Disney’s Newport Bay Club and Disney Village will open. All rides are ready to go.
In addition to various surprise appearances, there should be more “selfie spots” than ever in the parks – with over 60 characters from Disney, Pixar, MARVEL and Star Wars. In addition, the Walt Disney Studios Park is being expanded to include an attraction as part of its ongoing redesign: During “Cars Road Trip”, guests can embark on a road trip adventure on Route 66, inspired by the Disney / Pixar film “Cars”. In addition, on June 21, 2021, Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel will open its doors to one of the world’s largest collections of Marvel works of art with more than 300 exhibits – around 50 of which were specially created for the hotel.
And the other hotels are also looking forward to welcoming guests: Disney’s Newport Bay Club will open together with the park, Disney’s Hotel Cheyenne will follow on July 1, 2021 and Disney’s Davy Crockett Ranch on July 13, 2021. Disney’s Sequoia Lodge and Disney’s Hotel Santa Fe will be closed welcome guests again at a later date. The Disneyland Hotel is being renovated and will be temporarily closed.
