The Luis Seoane de Mera School is at the moment no management team after the Department of Education communicated the dismissal to the director and also the head of studies and the secretary of the center, as a result of the case of the forgotten child on the school bus. The two teachers summoned this morning by the administration have expressed their desire to not assume the management position.
The former director, Maria Jose Ruíz feels overwhelmed by the situation and insists over and over that her priority It was taking care of little Santiago Ezequiel, his parents and the bus driver, completely dejected by what happened.
María José Ruíz states that the tone used by the Territorial Chief Education and the Area inspector, when they contacted her, it was totally inappropriate. The Staff Board of A Coruña, the highest body representing the teaching staff of public education in the province, unanimously requests the dismissal of the Territorial Head of Education, Indalecio Cabana, and that an investigation be opened on the actions of the inspector of the center. CIG-Education qualifies Cabana’s behavior as “unpresentable and caciquil” and understands that with the forced resignation of the director what is intended is to divert attention from the responsibilities that correspond to the administration, as it is the one who hires the transport companies.
