Wallapop is one of the most popular trading apps in the world and an endless source of viral content. The surreal negotiations between users have become one of the favorite materials on social networks.

However, the interaction between users is not the same in all countries. At least that’s how Marta Registrada explains it, a ‘tiktoker’ who has become popular explaining the differences that exist between Spain and Australia. The use of Wallpop and any sales application is one of them.

bargaining power. “In Spain everyone knows that when you buy something through Marketplace, Wallapop or Vinted, the price it gives you is not the real one,” he begins by saying in relation to the habit of haggling that we Spaniards have.

Straight to the point. “Poor you, how can you think of asking someone for a discount as long as they haven’t since the product is negotiable. It doesn’t matter how long the product has been on sale or how long the person needs the money,” says @martaregistrada about what reluctant Australians are to negotiations.

Some examples. Next, Marta attaches some screenshots in which you can read how they reject her at the moment when she raises a possible discount to her interlocutors: “Leave it” or “It is not negotiable” are some of the emphatic responses that she has received when regard.

“Where has the little game been? The tug of war, the fun of the sale, of the business… There is no game here,” laments the tiktoker.

Comments. Some users seem to agree with the Australians’ stubbornness and rejection of negotiations: “It doesn’t have to be fun, but rather efficient… think of all the time you’ve spent renegotiating,” says one of them.

On the other hand, there are also those who point out that in Spain it is not the only place where haggling is done: “Spain 🤝 Latam | Haggle hahahahaha”
