An interview on Crime Boss Rockay City by INGAME STUDIOS revealed a lot of unreleased gameplay details about this shooter from the Hollywood line-up, which will be released in 2023 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

In the chat, Crime Boss Head of Development Jarek Kolar went into great detail about the experience of playing Travis Baker as he tries to rise to the level of organized crime in Rocky City.

Kolar explains that “Crime Boss’ main experience is the single player campaign. On the other hand, the Crime Stories mode focuses on four-player cooperative play. Crime Stories consists of a series of mini-campaigns where you can use the best gang members and the best arsenal. There’s also Rags to Riches, a mode that allows players to create their own crime ring, recruit new members, buy weapons, and take part in advanced missions.”.

An INGAME STUDIOS rep then returns to the Crime Boss Rockay City single-player experience to highlight its non-linear nature:

“The single player campaign will have alternate storytelling paths that will be chosen with a dual criterion of random selection and decisions made by the player so far. The single player structure will focus on the open world, but without the free exploration of the game world. There will be a map where events will spawn, an approach needed to increase replay value. With hundreds of missions available, there will be countless variations on the same maps.”

In terms of gameplay, Kolar says the missions in Crime Boss will be “short but challenging and will require two to ten minutes of adrenaline-fuelled gameplay to complete».

“It’s a rhythm similar to competitive multiplayer games like Counter-Strike or Team Fortress. In the single player campaign, these missions and heists will be influenced by the story events that trigger them, as well as factors affecting the options and obstacles that come up during the course of the campaign. In addition, each mission is partially procedural, so each heist is different in that it creates tension and atmosphere, rather than offering a simulation with many approaches available.
