It is an acceleration of the rise. The incidence in France increased by 42% over the period. Concretely, this means that 17.3 cases per 100,000 inhabitants were reported in the country, against 12.5 / 100,000 the previous week.
And the progression is even more dazzling in terms of positivity rate, established at 2.2% (+ 41% against + 15% the previous week). This increase, long attributed to the explosion in the number of tests, can no longer be, the number of patients tested being almost stable at 540,000 people. Just like the screening rate stopped at 805/100 000 inhabitants.
So 11,633 people tested positive between August 3 and 9, compared to 8,384 the previous week, an increase of 39% which even peaks at 46% among 15-44 year olds.
Downturn in the North
In a Hexagon where 33 departments have an incidence rate greater than 10/100 000 inhabitants and where 19 departments are classified at a moderate level of vulnerability, the North (1)
hardly stands out from the crowd anymore.
With an incidence of 24.7 / 100,000 on August 9 (+ 7%), the department is the 13th where it is the highest, whereas it was placed in 7th position the previous week.
It certainly owes this to a drop in the progression of this indicator (still at + 25% the previous week), but above all to a situation which is deteriorating nationally. Thursday is 2669 new cases which were detected in France, 145 more than the day before.
