Croatia defeated Morocco 2-1 in the mini-final in Qatar, and the 2018 runners-up world champion, who won his second consecutive world championship medal, said he will continue to play for the national team.
“I can still play at a high level. I really plan to play for the national team at least until June, I want to play in the final tournament of the League of Nations. I would also like to play the first qualifying matches for the European Championship, and then we’ll see what else we can do,” said L. Modričius.

The 37-year-old midfielder was playing his fourth World Cup in Qatar. The Croatian, who made his international debut in 2006, played in his first World Cup in Germany at the time.
L. Modričius, who together with his father celebrated the bronze medal in Qatar, has already played 162 matches and scored 23 goals during his career in the Croatian national team.
