The “digital green certificate” will facilitate travel in the European Union, and Andrei Baciu, Secretary of State in the Ministry of Health, announced the address of the site where, from July 1, it will be possible to download the document, necessary especially to facilitate travel in abroad.
“The certificate can be downloaded from July 1 on the platform developed by STS and will be available at: certificat-covid.gov.ro. We will enter this platform, create an account with an email address and receive a link to check if we are who we claim to be. Some authentication data will be required to ensure that the person requesting it is also the person receiving it. We access that link and it will take us to the respective platform, from where we can download the certificate that will be valid for us on one of the situations listed above “, explained Andrei Baciu, during a TV show.
The document will have a QR code, which can be scanned and will show that we have been vaccinated against COVID, that we have a negative COVID test done recently or that we have gone through the disease.
Moreover, Andrei Baciu stressed that, from August 15, the European digital certificate will not be mandatory, but is just a document that will ease the situation of those who travel, so they could get rid, for example, of the quarantine it could be imposed in certain countries or on return from certain countries. People who do not have access to the internet will be able to obtain this certificate from the public health departments, from family doctors.
