A federal appeals court in New Orleans on Friday allowed Texas to temporarily reintroduce the new strict abortion law, writes AP.

It happens one day after the federal judge Robert Pitman ordered to stop the enforcement of the disputed law in the state.

The legal battle over the law thus continues in full force, and Pitman’s order is set aside until the case is reviewed. The Ministry of Justice must respond by Tuesday.

Background: This means the new abortion law in Texas

The abortion law in the United States’ second most populous state came into force on September 1, and is the strictest in the country.

The Abortion Act differs from other states’ attempts to tighten abortion legislation in that it leaves it to private individuals to go to civil lawsuits against anyone who either contributes to and facilitates, or has performed, abortions.

Private individuals can get up to $ 10,000 in restitution if they are successful in lawsuits.

Since Pitman’s order, clinics have received patients, something they have not been able to do since 1 September. But now there is a temporary halt again.

Pitman’s order came after that The Biden administration has filed a lawsuit against the state of Texas.

Justice Minister Merrick Garland has stated that the law was introduced in violation of the Constitution.
