The Cost of Producing Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra Revealed by Counterpoint Research

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is undoubtedly one of the best phones on the market, and Samsung knows it very well. That’s why he also pays a lot of money for it. The basic memory variant (8/256 GB) started at a price of CZK 34,990, but now, according to the Heureka server, it can be found more than CZK 10,000 cheaper. Counterpoint Research agency us now brought BoM analysis that reveals how much it costs the South Korean company to produce one unit.

Of course, it is necessary to state at the outset that the estimates provided by the company only take into account the costs of components and do not include distribution, development, marketing and other essential items. However, the analysis reveals that the production cost per piece is 469 dollars, which is about 10,300 crowns. By far the most expensive component is the Snapdragon 8 Gen2 chipset and modem. These two items make up 35% of the above amount, i.e. more than 3,500 crowns. The second most expensive item is the display it forms 18% of the total cost and the third most expensive element is the cameras they make around 14% of costs.

Although it might seem to you that the resulting amount is really low, it is not. Other costs such as distribution, development and, above all, marketing costs, which are quite high for the South Korean company, were not included in the final price.
