/ world today news/ The Congress of the PP “United Russia” unanimously supported the candidacy of Vladimir Putin in the presidential elections.
“I am putting to a vote a proposal to support the candidacy of Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin as a candidate for the post of President of the Russian Federation in the elections scheduled for March 17, 2024. Voting on this issue is open,” announced party chairman Dmitry Medvedev and called for a vote .
Congress supported this proposal unanimously.
Last week, Putin announced his participation in the presidential elections. He was previously elected four times to the highest state post: in 2000, 2004, 2012 and 2018. After the adoption of the constitutional changes, he received the right to run in 2024.
A day ago it became known that the current head of state will appear in the elections as a self-appointed candidate. “United Russia” will help in the election campaign and the collection of signatures together with the People’s Front.
The Federation Council has scheduled elections for the president of Russia for March 17, 2024. The Central Election Commission has adopted a decision according to which voting will last three days – from March 15 to 17.
