Recalling some of her individual reminiscences with Pope John Paul I, Amalia Luciani, niece of Pope Luciani, said: “For the niece he was a particular uncle of mine, the kind of uncle that anyone would like to have.” Amalia, daughter of Pope Luciani’s brother, extra: “When he returned to his home in Canale da Gordo, he never blamed any individual, at most a major, nervous appear, but then he often smiles”.
Amalia reported the very last time she noticed her uncle was in the summertime of 1978, just before he went to elect a pope.
