TEXAS – Two people in Houston and one in the Crosby area died of hypothermia at homethe Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences reported Thursday.

Carrol Anderson died at a residence in Crosby, a town 30 miles east of downtown Houston. Jimmie Gloud and Mary Geee died in residences in Houston, the institute reported.

Hypothermia was the main cause of death in each of the cases, which were declared accidents, according to the files.

The exact time when the people died has not been determined.

With these deaths, as well as nine others reported Thursday in Galveston and Brazoria counties, there are 25 people who have died from causes related to extreme weather in the Houston area.

The 25 victims include a man who was found dead Thursday in a parking lot in northern Harris County. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office said they found no signs of trauma on the body and that the death was likely related to the cold weather.

Sheriff Ed González said it was likely a homeless person and they were trying to identify him.

“This climate is not only cold, it is deadly,” González said.
