The COFM will vaccinate its members and colleagues against the flu

The Official College of Pharmacists of Madrid (COFM) will once again collaborate as an official vaccination center in a campaign by the General Directorate of Public Health of the Government of Madrid, where pharmacists themselves will immunize their colleagues against the flu from tomorrow. The COFM has obtained the authorization from Directorate General of Public Health of the Ministry of Health of Madrid as a flu vaccination center in order to vaccinate pharmacists in risk groups.

After assuming responsibility as an authorized COVID-19 vaccination center, The School will again host a vaccination which will take place from 20 October to 31 January 2023. The system will be similar and will be carried out in school facilities by vaccinators from multidisciplinary teams and thanks to other volunteers.

“We are committed to doing what is in our power to avoid contagion”

Manuel Martinez del Peralpresident of the COFM

The goal is to increase flu vaccination coverage for everyonethose pharmacists who have direct and frequent contact with patients, pharmacists practicing in pharmacies, hospitals or clinical laboratories. Those over 65 will also have the opportunity to be vaccinated at their college location as a risk group. Similarly, the technical staff of the pharmacy will be vaccinated and will request it and justify it.

“Vaccination is the best remedy to prevent disease and, as health care workers, We are committed to doing what is in our power to avoid contagion.. I encourage all colleagues to come to the School to get vaccinated and I thank, once again, the commitment of all the pharmacists who participate in this campaign and show that we too are prepared to collaborate and vaccinate “, says COFM president, Manuel Martinez del Pero.

The vaccine will be provided Tuesday through Thursday, by appointment

About thirty volunteer collegiate pharmacists will be part of the multidisciplinary vaccination team organized by the Madrid company, which will also see the intervention of a doctor and a nurse. In this way, the COFM takes the lead in protecting a pharmaceutical group whose vaccination rates have historically been low.

interested pharmacists must make an appointment at the School to get vaccinated on the sixth floor of the corporation on one of the chosen days, from Tuesday to Thursday, from 14:00 to 17:00.
