Spain has extended controls at the internal land border with Portugal until April 6 due to the health crisis caused by covid-19 and in view of the proximity of Holy Week, as published this Monday by the Official State Gazette.
In accordance with the order of the Ministry of the Interior, only Spanish citizens will be allowed to enter Spanish territory. and their spouse or partner registered in the public registry and those ascendants and descendants who live in their care.
Residents and students who study in Spain, those who live in other Member States or Schengen associates who go to their usual place of residence and those who are in transit for work reasons may also enter.
The same may be done by those who prove causes of force majeure, need or humanitarian reasons, as well as foreign personnel accredited as members of diplomatic missions., international organizations and security forces, whose movements are related to their work.
The entries and exits of the Spanish territory through the internal land border with Portugal can only be made through the authorized passages and during the established hours.
This order will be in effect from 01:00 a.m. on March 16, 2021 until 12:59 a.m. on April 6.
