The Sanderrasen public sports field is also to be partially renovated and equipped with a beach volleyball court.
The initiative for the refurbishment program of the sports facility is the mayor and sports manager Judith Jörg. During a site visit to Oberdürrbach, she became aware of the shortcomings in the old municipal sports halls, she reported at the last meeting of the school and sports committee. Individual cosmetic repairs are no longer effective, stressed Jörg: “We have to completely renovate our sports facilities.”
Energy efficient renovations are also planned
The Department of Sport will then take care of the building to draw up a list of priorities for the general renewal of the city’s sports facilities. If possible, the list should be available at the time of the budget discussion and should contain suggestions “where to start and where we can manage it financially. Then the clubs will know what they are doing and can calculate better. And we will then know where the measures at short term still make sense and where not “.
In addition to the tectake arena, which has already been refurbished in some places, the list will also include the Kürnachtalhalle, the Dürrbachtalhalle, the Pleichachtalhalle and the Heuchelhofhalle. Energy restructuring and, where possible, photovoltaic systems on the roofs of the pavilions are planned. In addition, safety aspects must also be taken into consideration in the pavilions, all built in the 70s and 80s, added Jens Röder, head of the municipal sports department: “These are all meeting places. We want to continue to have great events there, such as Carnival, can perform with a clear conscience “.
Sanderrasen will be a problem in budget deliberations
According to Jörg, the partial renovation of the sports facility on the Sanderrasen, which has also been underway for years, and its financing will also be a topic in the next budget consultations. “The sports field is used very well and we would like to build a beach volleyball court”, announced the sports manager. In addition, the search for a plot of land as central as possible is underway for a production hall for the service of the sports facility, currently rented in the main post office in Heuchelhof.
