Carl Decaluwé (59), governor of West Flanders, chief of the coast, is back from his Portuguese holiday. The fun was there anyway. The first weekend of his absence there were far too many people here by the sea and there was the Great Beach Riot. The second weekend no cat came to the coast, and in the meantime he was allowed to put out the fires from a distance.
