The Chamber of Commerce announces its Board of Directors 2020-2021



The outgoing president of the Puerto Rico Chamber of Commerce (CCPR), José Ledesma Fuentes, announced today, Saturday, the names of the new components of the CCPR Board of Directors [2020-2021], after having finished the voting process yesterday.

In the consultation, which this year was carried out exclusively by electronic means, the active members of the institution selected a president-elect, six new directors and six entities representing the Associations affiliated to the CCPR.

The report of the Voting Committee was presented by its president, Carlos De Ángel Ramírez, prior to concluding the working session of the 107th Annual Members’ Meeting.

The distribution of the new members of the Board of Directors 2020-2021 is as follows:

At the time, it was reported that from next July 1 of this year the new president of the Puerto Rico Chamber of Commerce and its Board of Directors will be the businessman Juan Carlos Agosto Martínez, who is the chief executive officer of Store Management System, LLC; operator of five Econo Supermarkets on the island.

Agosto Martínez has more than 10 years of experience in the retail market, marketing and operations. He served in the Puerto Rico Senate, as well as in Chicago Public Schools and as an economist at the financial advisory firm, H. Calero Consulting Group.

In addition, he holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and economics from the University of Puerto Rico (UPR), a master’s degree in Public Policy from the University of Chicago, and an MBA from the University of Miami. He is also a graduate of the UPR School of Law.
